We all know that 2020 has been a tough year for many. People are struggling, they are stressed and many need our help. Our credit union’s mission is to help our community one member at a time. So instead of letting 2020 stop us, we decided to let it inspire us!
We created Project Giveback with the goal of giving back to our members and community in a bigger way than ever before. Remember when you were a kid and Christmas was a magical time of the year? Well, we think it still is…
We emailed all our members and asked them what they were asking Santa for in 2020. They responded with things they needed… pajamas for my grandkids, a refrigerator and stove for my aunt, a bed for my disabled son… We were so humbled by their responses, so many requesting things for others.
Mrs. Claus and the elves went to work and purchased gifts or made donations for every single member who completed the survey, plus a few non-members who found the survey on our social media.
Some members were invited to our Project Giveback event, Covid-style, to get their gifts. We couldn’t invite everyone, but all the other gifts were mailed…some to other states and overseas to those serving in the military.
It’s been a humbling, yet inspiring project for Public Service Credit Union. We hope to bring a smile to each of their faces, maybe a sigh of relief, tears of joy and hopefully ease some stress and tension, if only for one day.
